Self-Closing Jam Jar (Frictionless Coating?)

Image
A popular meme online shows the below self-closing lid on a Japanese brand Jam Jar. Some online users have suggested temperature differentials and resulting pressure differentials as the possible cause. But no one really seems to know why. But such an effect could easily be achieved with a frictionless coating such as the one below, which are becoming increasingly common. After all, the only thing that normally prevents gravity from pulling the lid down is friction between Lid and Jar. The inertial resistance would be minimal, both vertical and rotational. The problem is simply a variation of the frictionless nut question , a vertical acceleration causing a rotational acceleration and vice versa.

Amazing Explanations of Calculus

Image
This guy gives amazing explanations of Calculus .  Saw the first two videos in the series and both were amazing. Like the commenters said, one almost feels jealous for the quality of content kids have access to these days. You can actually understand a lot of calculus from this cartoon 🙂 Like what limits mean and the differentiation of Euler's number 'e' etc. Actually very nicely done. A great example of how you can prove anything once you start with the wrong premise 😂 This is much better.

Kawasaki ZX10R Official and 4K Videos

Image
Official Videos This one appears to have all the other promo videos in it as well. An unedited copy of the technical section from the full video above. 4K Videos  Two MCN reviews. Two Bike World reviews. A really decent review, ignoring the hyping up, from an unexpected source. A good old-fashioned walkaround. In 4K .

Showa BFF / BFRC Suspension Explained

Image
A couple of videos from people with hands-on experience, and clearly know what they're talking about. The most comprehensive video apparently, but completely in Japanese. The auto translate is sketchy at best, but it conveys the general idea. Prevents cavitation and foaming of the damping fluid, so more stable at high speeds etc. Also has some good graphics, pics and animation. Official Videos On first glance, this guy sounds like overconfident kid in class doing a book report thinking he knows everything there is to know about the book from talking to everyone around; but has never actually opened the book. But although there's not much technical information in these two videos below, zero mentions of the cavitation advantage, the guy actually explains the basic system and also mentions the most important advantage to be had from a more stable suspension: better traction.

Objectives and Targets

Tom Cronin: He's making his first mistake. Nicky: It's not a mistake. They don't make mistakes. They don't do random. There's always an objective. Always a target. Pamela Landy: The objectives and targets always came from us. Who's giving them to him now? Nicky: Scary version? He is.
