The List This is not a technical post. But as an engineer, mechanical watches are naturally of great interest to me. So here are the five watches I would buy (if I could afford them), and the reasons why. 1. A simple theory that may have already been explored by others. But it's common knowledge in physics that when an object gets bigger; weight and volume increase by the power of three, whereas surface area and cross-section area increase only by a power of two. This would explain why larger animals need to live in water, and also why smaller animals have such incredible structural strength but can't survive the cold. Since bone cross-sections and skin area increase only by 2^, they would not be sufficient to support to the expoentially increased weight and heat generation from the 3^ volume.

In keeping with the same wise principle, let's look at the quickest ways to lose all your money in the financial markets so you can get back to work sooner. 1. Invest on Tips Detailed financial research is for nerds. You don't need that kind of hassle when you have such great social and networking skills. Just put all your money into that penny stock that guy on the flight told you about. You're such a great judge of character, after all. Go all in. Boo-ya! 2. Nail That Latest Trend Forget conventional wisdom. That's for old fogies. You're much smarter than that. Loosing all your family wealth on the latest financial craze is a time-honored tradition, whether it's the tulip mania from a century ago or the dot-com bubble from two decades ago. Cryptos and NFTs might be exactly what you need to do that this time. J

Drupal maintainers can sometimes be very unprofessional - refusing to acknowledge problems, or asking for development code to be installed in production etc. One cannot install dev code on a production website. One also cannot debug a production issue on a sandbox. The correct thing to do would be to acknowledge that the current state of the production version of the module does not support a clear diagnosis of the issue. Module development is voluntary, and it's OK to say that a module needs more work. But pretending that there's nothing wrong with the module — while trying to blame the person reporting the issue — is very unprofessional. Drupal admins tend to side with the devs as well, no matter how politely the matter is being raised. Some admins also seem to lack tech skills, unable to perform basic investigation even when given all relevant information for core issues. But then, it mostly works. And more importantly, it's free.
