Drupal - Poorly Run But Free
Drupal maintainers can sometimes be very unprofessional -
refusing to acknowledge problems, or asking for development code to be
installed in production etc.
One cannot install dev code on a production website.
One also cannot debug a production issue on a sandbox.
The correct thing to do would be to acknowledge that the current state
of the production version of the module does not support a clear
diagnosis of the issue.
Module development is voluntary, and it's OK to say that a module needs more work.
But pretending that there's nothing wrong with the module — while trying
to blame the person reporting the issue — is very unprofessional.
Drupal admins tend to side with the devs as well, no matter how politely the matter is being raised.
Some admins also seem to lack tech skills, unable to perform basic investigation even when given all relevant information for core issues. But then, it mostly works.
And more importantly, it's free.
